On-campus Farmer’s Market Cancelled

submitted by greena@augsburg.edu

Because of low vendor interested and staff capacity this year, the West Bank Farmer’s Market has been cancelled. Even though we’ll miss the weekly lunch break with farmers and local vendors, we look forward to this opportunity to have some community conversations about food and food access over the coming months to see if we can re-group for next year. If you’re interested in being part of these conversations or sharing your thoughts about the on-campus farmer’s market, talk with Allyson (greena@augsburg.edu)! You can find days and times for other markets on the Homegrown Minneapolis site. You can also get fresh produce delivered to you on campus every Friday by signing up for a CSA share with Tangeltown Gardens! Contact Nell Gerhke (gehrken@augsburg.edu) for more info.

And if you were hoping to stock up on jam and granola from our local canned goods vendor, B’s Home Cannery, don’t worry – you an still get some! Allyson will have a box of blueberry, strawberry, strawberry-rhubarb, and rhubarb jams in 4-oz jars ($3.50), 8-oz jars ($4.50), and 16-oz jars ($5.50), and some quart jars of granola ($8) in her office starting next week. You can stop by and grab some anytime until they’re gone.

Thanks for your support of the market over the years! We look forward to whatever adventure comes out of this next year!
