Welcome to Stewart Van Cleve

Please join me in welcoming Stewart Van Cleve to Augsburg. Stewart brings a broad range of library and archival experiences as well as a strong record of scholarship to his role as Digital Archivist and Research Services Librarian. He has held positions at Winona State University and Metropolitan State University libraries, the Metropolitan Council, and the Minnesota Historical Society. In addition, Stewart was an adjunct instructor in Urban Studies at the University of Minnesota, and also served as Interim Curator in the U’s Tretter Collection in GLBT Studies.

Author of “Land of 10,000 Loves: A History of Queer Minnesota” (University of Minnesota Press), Stewart is also a sought-after speaker and expert on the history of the LGBT community in our state. Stewart possesses a bachelor degree from the University of Minnesota and a master degree from Portland State University, both in Urban Studies, and earned his Master of Library Science degree from St. Kate’s.
