Summer Campus Projects

• I-94 sound wall upgrade work has begun on the West side of campus, work on walls began on 20th Ave and will continue to Lot L. This project is expected to be completed mid-July. Parking will be affected in areas along the project.
• Kennedy Center Athletic offices on 2nd floor are being remodeled to add several new offices. Work is expected to be completed by May 31.
• Ice Arena remodel project: Both ice surfaces are being replaced. This project is underway and will be continuing until October 15. The North portion of Lot L is being utilized to stage dirt and equipment.
• Building signage upgrade projects are being done outside of Kennedy, Music Building, Christensen Center, Oren Gateway and the Foss Center. There may be some temporary sidewalk access problems around the projects as they progress.

Summer Health & Mental Health Resources

If you are a current Augsburg student and in need of mental health counseling services, please call 612-330-1707 and press option 1 to be connected to our after hours phone counseling service – Protocall. The CWC office is not open during the summer as staff are not available. We will see students again when Fall classes resume. Additional community clinic resources can be found on the CWC web page as well as other self-help resources and information regarding Smiley’s Clinic.

Summer Yoga

Good Morning. I will be teaching yoga at Augsburg this summer until June 27. Please join us on Wednesdays from 12:15–1 p.m. in Si-Melby 128.
We will practice flowing breath to movement, staying in the present moment, and challenging our bodies through different poses during this 45 minute yoga practice. Mats will be available if you do not have your own mat. Open to all students, staff, faculty, and any others part of the Augsburg community. Private sessions are available as well, let me know if you are interested. Please e-mail me if you have any questions or suggestions at lamberte@augsburg.edu.

Update on support for Mzenga Wanyama and Mary Mzenga

We would like to express our gratitude to all who signed the letter in support of Dr. Mzenga Wanyama and Mary Mzenga. Close to150 letters were delivered to Senator Klobuchar’s office on Friday, May 11th. We also formally expressed our gratitude to Senator Klobuchar for her and Senator Smith’s advocacy on behalf of the Wanyamas.

Lunch and Learn with Thrivent Financial – Wed., May 23

Alex Gonzalez and Ted Nielsen, Thrivent Financial, will briefly discuss topics for new and mid-career professionals such as managing debt, care for young children, saving for further education – as well as planning for retirement. You can leave with valuable information and resources. Co-hosted through our Wellness program, Student Affairs, and Thrivent Financial. Lunch is provided.
