International Student Orientation: International Student and Scholar Services is looking for Faculty & Staff who are willing to host new international & exchange students for a meal in their home. Approximately 25 new students will be arriving to Minneapolis in late August for orientation. Towards the end of their week, we would love to have students have the opportunity to connect more with a faculty or staff on campus, make connections, and have the chance to be in someone’s home.
Here are the details:
You will meet your students at 5:30 p.m. in the Oyate Commons on Thursday, August 30. We are asking for you to host 3-4 students and drive them to your home for a meal. We ask that you bring them back by around 8:30 p.m. If you are interested, please email Angela Bonfiglio, International Student Advisor at firstname.lastname@example.org. It’s finally time to start planting in the community garden! Our 63+ gardeners (neighbors, staff, faculty, and students) will be out getting their plots ready this Saturday from 10am-12pm. If you’re in neighborhood, feel free to stop by and say hello, grab some snacks, and lend a hand to any gardeners who could use some support!
If you’re interested in staying up to date on what’s happening in the garden, we can add you to the gardener email group where we share announcements, events, and important information with each other. Email Allyson Green to join that communications group.
