Tips to Prevent Thefts on Campus

Public Safety would like to remind you of some awareness tips to help prevent theft occurrences:

-Never leave personal items unattended. Theft occurrences can often happen in under 5 minutes so remember to always take your things with you.
-Do not prop doors open to ensure only the people who have access to that space can gain entry.
-Always be aware of your surroundings and report suspicious activity to Public Safety.

If you have concerns or need to report something, call Public Safety anytime at 612-330-1717.

Lot G Closed for MN Private College Week

Lot G will be closed Monday, June 25 to Friday, June 29 for Minnesota Private College Week. The lot will only be open to visitors in connection to Minnesota Private College Week. Anyone parked in the lot with an Augsburg permit will be contacted and asked to move their vehicle in a timely manner; any vehicles without a permit may be towed immediately.

Remember that you may park in any open Augsburg lot with a valid Augsburg permit, including Augsburg owned streets (8th St S and 21st Ave S, South of the traffic circle. If you have guests coming to campus next week, please contact parking@augsburg.edu or call 612-330-1717 for assistance in finding them parking.

Age 60+, you have to do this – help a student researcher

This is a really interesting study and a great research project.

As previously noted in A-mail:
We are seeking eligible participants who are 60 years of age or older to participate in a facial perception study on campus this summer. Participants will have their eye movements monitored by a specialized camera while making judgments about images of human faces. The study is expected to take 30 minutes, and eligible participants will receive $10 USD as compensation. If you, or someone you know, are 60 years of age or older, please contact enriquej@augsburg.edu for more information.

Last Chance to Register for the 2018 Vocation Conference is Friday, June 22

Augsburg Faculty and Staff:
You are invited to attend the twenty-fourth annual Vocation of a Lutheran College Conference at Augsburg University from Monday, July 16 to Wednesday, July 18.
Each year, five faculty members from each of the ELCA Colleges come together to explore the distinct roles that they play in higher education. One of the benefits being the host site is that we have the option of inviting more than five people to attend. This year’s theme is “Civil Discourse in a Fragmented and Multi-Religious Society.”
The conference will begin with an opening session at 5 pm followed by a dinner at 7:00 pm on July 16 and conclude by 1:00 pm on July 18.

Celebration and Goodbye for Mohamed Sallam

Mohamed Sallam, Pan-Afrikan Center Director, has accepted an opportunity with HECUA as their director of international programs. Mohamed’s last day at Augsburg is July 6. We will celebrate his contributions on Friday, June 22, 10-11:30 a.m. in Oyate Commons, suite 2, Christensen.
