Starting September 24th, Augsburg University will establish a Rochester Health Commons. The Health Commons is a nursing-led free drop-in center that is dedicated to serving those in need. Augsburg first created this model of nursing care at Central Lutheran Church in Minneapolis in 1992, and now DNP students and faculty are establishing a Health Commons in Rochester. Our belief is that health is found through relationship-building and community engagement. We are here to listen and provide support. Other services include blood pressure checks, foot care, connections to community resources, and health discussions. We also have free supplies such as toiletries, oral care items, and socks. The Health Commons is located in L-7 in the basement of Bethel Lutheran Church and is open every Monday (except holidays) from 4:00-5:30. We invite you to come for a cup of coffee, to establish community, or to just get some socks! All are welcome!
