Deliberative Dialogue: Should We Eliminate Grades at the University Level?

However, in this session, we ask an essential question: should grades exist at the university level? Get Your Moodle Course Ready for Spring Semester

Save time changing due dates for assignments by using the “Dates Report” in the Administration Block. Building new content? Scholarship for tuition, change your community: Apply for the Phillips Scholarship TODAY

Apply to be a Phillips Scholar by January 23!

The Phillips Scholars Program recognizes and rewards private college students who strive to make life better for those with unmet needs. Applicants are challenged to think creatively and become community-service leaders by developing a project to meet an unmet need in Minnesota communities. Phillips Scholars receive scholarships during their junior and senior years, and a stipend to complete a project during the summer between junior and senior year.

This preliminary application is used to select two finalists from Augsburg University who will then develop a full proposal to be submitted to the Minnesota Private College Council for the scholarship. This will include a 5-7 page project proposal, official transcript, and 3 letters of recommendation. Staff members of the Sabo Center will help finalist complete their applications.

You must be a sophomore during the 2018-2019 school year to apply.

Make a Difference for Middle Schoolers with the MNUDL

Make a Difference. Educate Through Debate.
Earn Service Hours Using Your Skills as a Volunteer Debate Judge

The Minnesota Urban Debate League, a program of Augsburg University, needs a few excellent folks to judge middle school debates this spring.

No experience? No problem. We train judges at the beginning of every tournament.
What Judges Do:
• Watch rounds and evaluate teams on logic, argumentation, and public speaking.
• Provide written feedback and assign points to each debater.
• Choose the winner of each debate!

Opportunities to Volunteer:

Volunteers will judge two rounds of debate from 3:30 PM – 7:30 PM.

• February 7th – Roosevelt HS
• February 13th – Washington Technology MS

Staff Library Tour—TODAY

Staff Senate is hosting a Library Tour and welcomes you to join us!
Learn about what Library services Staff can utilize and more during a tour with Mary Hollerich, Library Director.

Please meet at the Library Circulation Desk on the first floor of Lindell Library. The tour will be followed by an informal “bring your own lunch” gathering in the Commons.

Plan to Attend the Day of Action

On the morning of January 21st, everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Action. There will be a plenary session in the chapel from 8:30-9:15, followed by breakout sessions in the Oren Gateway Center. The first session will be from 9:30 am-10:45 am, and the second session will be from 11:00 am-12:15 pm. A program with further information about the breakout sessions will be available soon, but mark you calendars now.
