Congratulations are in order to Melissa Flores Jaimes, Taiwana Shambley, and Zakariya Abdullahi, all three of whom were selected this year as Phillips Scholars!

A program of the Jay and Rose Phillips Family Foundation and administered by the Minnesota Private College Fund, the Phillips Scholars Program supports potential leaders with outstanding academic credentials who intend to dedicate a portion of their lives to community service.

Five Phillips Scholars are selected each year from a highly competitive applicant pool that includes students from all 17 private colleges in Minnesota. Phillips Scholars receive a $12,000 scholarship, plus a $4,000 stipend to support each student’s work on a summer project that serves a Minnesota community that they have designed.

These three students join a growing list of Augsburg students who have been recipients of this prestigious scholarship.

Congratulations to Melissa, Taiwana, and Zakariya for this tremendous honor!
