Global Youth Climate Strike

The Environmental Action Committee and Campus Ministry have organized a gathering for the Youth Climate Strike: an international effort to protest the inaction of government and businesses on Climate Change.

This event will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 20th with donuts and blessing by Campus Ministry in Foss. At 10:15 in the Oren Gateway Center Lobby, Mayor Jacob Frey, will give a brief, energizing speech. Following the send off, we will take the light rail to Western Sculpture Park for the strike. We will take the light rail back to campus after the strike at 2 p.m.

Faculty have received notice of this event. Instructors were advised to be clear about any consequences of missing classes, and they have the discretion as well to focus on environmental issues in Friday classes or to create experiential learning opportunities for students to participate in the strike.
