Needing something “cool” amidst our hot summer? Well, then this is the event for you!
Presented by Norway House (and supported by Augsburg University and Global Minnesota) join a free virtual AND/OR an in-person discussion with 2020 Going Viking Honoree Liv Arnesen. She will present her new book “Skiing Into the Bright Open,” detailing her solo journey to the South Pole; a solitary adventure in the bleak and beautiful bone-chilling cold of Antarctica.
Arnesen’s book tells a story of gritty determination, thrilling achievement, and perseverance in the face of near despair and daunting odds.
A moderated discussion, including Q&A session, will be led by Global Minnesota President Mark Ritchie, so come prepared with your questions and wonders!
Augsburg University will have access to this discussion POST the event. Any professors interested in sharing this story with their students for academic purposes, should connect with Bettine Hoff Hermanson (hermansb@augsburg.edu).
