Drawing for Prizes Worth up to $500 for Vaccinated Students by August 31

All students vaccinated by August 31 are eligible to enter a drawing for a series of prizes that include either a $200 VISA gift card, a parking pass for the 2021-22 academic year (surface lot and street parking only) or $500 discounts on Augsburg dining and bookstore purchases.

To enter the drawing, you must have received either two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine before 11:59 p.m. on August 31. By entering this raffle, you give Augsburg University permission to confirm your vaccination status with the Minnesota Department of Health or to contact you to upload an image of your vaccination card to validate your vaccination status.

This fall, vaccinated students will no longer be required to quarantine (if no symptoms) if exposed to someone with COVID-19. Learn more about the vaccines here: https://sites.augsburg.edu/outbreak-planning/vaccine-info/

Fall Laptop and Hotspot Requests

Beginning August 5th, fall semester laptop and hotspot requests will be available for students who need technology to complete their coursework. To request a laptop or other available technology, visit https://go.augsburg.edu/studentlaptop

We are also excited to announce that Augsburg has become a part of the Emergency Broadband Program, which provides internet access for Pell-eligible students. Through this program, eligible students can receive a mobile hotspot free of charge for the duration of the federally funded program. Norway’s Liv Arnesen: Skiing into the Bright Open

Needing something “cool” amidst our hot summer? Well, then this is the event for you!

Presented by Norway House (and supported by Augsburg University and Global Minnesota) join a free virtual AND/OR an in-person discussion with 2020 Going Viking Honoree Liv Arnesen. She will present her new book “Skiing Into the Bright Open,” detailing her solo journey to the South Pole; a solitary adventure in the bleak and beautiful bone-chilling cold of Antarctica.

Arnesen’s book tells a story of gritty determination, thrilling achievement, and perseverance in the face of near despair and daunting odds.

A moderated discussion, including Q&A session, will be led by Global Minnesota President Mark Ritchie, so come prepared with your questions and wonders!
