Now Hiring: Opinions Editor for the Echo

The Echo, Augsburg’s student-run newspaper, is looking for creative, outspoken, and passionate individuals to join our staff!*

The editor of our “Opinions” section is responsible for curating, editing and writing articles centered on Augsburg student and community opinions and stories. Our motto is “Your Voice Matters” and this section is the heart of that idea!

Some examples of Opinions content topics include comics, critiques of Augsburg administration and leadership, experiences of marginalized identities, raising awareness for social issues, political views and more. Check out the opinions section on our website for more examples.

Section editors are compensated $60 per issue and work approximately six hours total each week. Only mandatory times are our general meeting and staff meeting each week.

*Pro tip: you do not need to be an expert in writing or editing to do well as an Echo editor. The Echo provides ample training and a welcoming team of support. If you’re interested, go for it!*
