Have you ever wanted to use graphic novels or comic books in your courses but aren’t sure where to start? Join us on September 29th, from 12:20pm–1:00pm on the first floor of Lindell Library for the Teaching With Graphic Novels Workshop led by professor Mary Lowe to learn how she incorporates graphic novels into her courses and how you can do the same. This workshop will be directed at faculty, but staff and students interested in education are encouraged to attend as well.

The Augsburg University Writing Center is open and be ready to support your writing this semester! Our current hours are Sunday–Thursday, 5–8 p.m. (in-person only), with plans to expand our hours in October. We are located across from Advising on the second floor of the library.
At the Writing Center, trained peer tutors work with writers at all levels and in all disciplines. Whether you are just beginning an assignment and need help generating ideas, in the middle of a draft and looking for feedback on structure or clarity, or polishing a final version before submitting, our tutors are here to help. They can also support you in developing stronger arguments, refining your style, citing sources, and building effective revision strategies.
You can bring in any kind of writing project—course essays, research papers, lab reports, resumes, personal statements, creative pieces, or even application materials. No matter the stage of the process or the type of writing, tutors provide constructive, supportive feedback that is focused on helping you grow as a writer.
Stop by during open hours to meet with a tutor and make the most of your writing this semester!

My name is Evan Bloyer, and I am a graduate student in the Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology program here at Augsburg University. My clinical research project is understanding how Tinder use impacts mental health outcomes, particularly self-esteem and body esteem. Early voting is open for local elections in Minnesota. Here in Minneapolis, voters will choose the mayor, city council members, and parks board representatives on November 4.
If you’re eligible but not yet registered to vote, there are multiple ways to register in Minnesota.
—You can register to vote online up to 21 days before Election Day (October 14, 2025).
—You can register on paper up to 21 days before Election Day (October 14, 2025).
—You can register or update your registration when you vote, whether that is at your polling place on Election Day or at an early voting location. You will need to provide proof of residence to register at the time of voting.

Eve is proud to have a Bachelor of Arts in English Writing and German from Luther College and a Master of Arts in Leadership in Student Affairs from the University of St. Thomas. She considers herself fortunate to mentor, learn from, and celebrate students across every part of their journey here at Augsburg. Her personal story is informed by an interest in empowering those around me and helping students uncover their unique inclinations that drive them toward a life of fulfillment and joy. Come and learn from Eve’s story and wisdom.

Join us Thurs, Sept. 25 at 11:40am for chapel. In honor of our book release, Hungry for Hope: Letters to the Church from Young Adults, Pr. Babette has invited us to share in chapel this week. Two of our young adult co-authors are planning the service. Pr. Drew Stever will be preaching and Pr. Madeline Burbank (also from Augsburg’s Interfaith Institute) is planning the liturgy.
Hungry for Hope has been an important project that is 3 years in the making from the Riverside Innovation Hub here at Augsburg. The book just was release August 28th. Ever wondered how you can reduce overdose deaths in your community? Carrying Narcan and knowing how to use it to reverse an overdose keeps our neighbors who use drugs safer!
Join Streetworks and Campus Kitchen for a training on stigma, harm reduction and the steps to reverse an opioid overdose! You’ll learn to recognize signs of overdose, get hands-on training to administer life-saving Naloxone, and learn about strategies and steps to reduce overdose deaths in your community. Thursday September 25th, 11:15am-1:15pm, Oren Gateway Center RM 100.

Hi, my name is Zander. I am a Senior, and I am disabled and in a wheelchair. I am looking for a backup PCA to help out when my regular PCA can’t. You do not need to be trained to be a PCA, as I will provide all of the training you will need, as it is not that technical of a job. My PCA comes to my dorm every day to help me with certain tasks that I cannot complete in a timely manner.. You would come when my main PCA needs a day off or can’t make it that day for different reasons, and help me with the tasks that they would usually help me with on that day. Some of the tasks you would do daily are refilling water bottles, refilling humidifiers, and making a bed. Expect this to take 15 or 30 minutes out of your day. Then, on top of that, I also require assistance with bathing once a week. Expect that to take an hour once a week. This job comes with very flexible hours. I will tell you what day I would need you, and you would pick a time on that day that you would come. There is no set required time that you have to come each day. The rate for this job will be $13 an hour; however, you are usually not there longer than an hour, so it usually turns out to $13 per day.
