TONIGHT: Guest Recital and Lecture on Balkan Music

Augsburg Music Department and Balkanicus Institute for Balkan Arts, Culture and History present:

Balkanicus
Autumn Reflections: Music from Bulgaria, Serbia, Slovenia, and Minnesota

Music by Lubo Denez, Vassil Kazandjiev, and Grammy-winning Minnesota composer Libby Larsen, as well as American premieres of music by Branka Popović and Bruno Brun.

Performers include Jill Dawe, piano (Augsburg University); Nickolai Kolarov, cello (president, BIBACH); Patrick O’Keefe, clarinet (UW River Falls); Fernando Meza, percussion (University of Minnesota); and Rada Kolarova, voice (Mila Vocal, Rada K & the Cicadas).

Stick around after the performance for a reception in the Sateren atrium where you can meet the performers and try some Balkan-style sweets and treats.
