submitted by madrids@augsburg.edu

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Fatima Aldajani to campus this week as part of our Thrive Speakers Series. Please join us for an inspiring and thought-provoking conversation that reimagines what student agency can look like when we center diverse cultural perspectives and forms of belonging.

When: Thursday november 20th.
Time: 4:15–5:15 PM
Where: Hagfors 150

About the Talk:
In this engaging session, Dr. Aldajani introduces student agency through a non-Western lens, challenging traditional assumptions about voice, autonomy, and participation in educational spaces. She highlights the importance of honoring the rich identities students bring into the classroom and explores how educators and institutions can cultivate shared agency. Using a collaborative, community-rooted approach that strengthens equity, dignity, and belonging for all learners.
Whether you work with students, study educational systems, or are passionate about justice-centered pedagogy, this conversation will offer new language, tools, and inspiration for rethinking how we empower students.
