On Behalf of Equity and Inclusion, Multicultural Life, and Augsburg University, we are excited to bring you the 39th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr., Convocation at 1 p.m. on January 19, 2026. This year’s theme is “Building Community: Who is My Neighbor?” The event will be held in person in the Hoversten Chapel and available online to livestream on Zoom. This year’s Keynote Speaker, Marcia Howard is an English teacher at Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis, where she has taught since 1998. She has been one of the key leaders in the George Floyd Square occupation and is currently the president of the teacher chapter of the Minneapolis Federation of Educators, Local 59.
