Apply for a Fulbright to Teach, Study, or Research Abroad

A Fulbright Award gives you the opportunity to teach, research, or study abroad for an academic year after graduation. The process of applying is invaluable and winning the award is a life-changing experience.

To be eligible and competitive you need to:
– Be a U.S. citizen or national
– Have a 3.0 or higher GPA for serving as an English Teaching Assistant
– Have a 3.5 or higher to conduct research or attend graduate school abroad
– Be an active member in the Augsburg community or your home community
– Have effective skills to adapt to another culture and serve as a cultural ambassador of the U.S. to your host country

If you are a junior or senior, you would start working on your application this summer in preparation for an early fall 2026 submission. Selections are made in Spring 2027 for placement in Fall 2027.

Staff: Volunteer at Commencement 2026

Staff volunteers are needed to help make the commencement ceremony on May 7 a meaningful and successful experience for our graduates and their families.
Volunteer Roles Include:
– Accessible Seating Ushers, Greeters, and Wayfinding: Manage the accessible seating table and seating areas; assist guests with finding a seating location and/or other facilities; hand out programs; provide assistance for wayfinding and/or other needs. (Training at 4:00, Shift 4:30 – 7:30 p.m.)
– Graduate Ushers/Tunnel Managers: Staff will help students find their way to the lineup tunnel and manage the line lengths to help with a seamless procession.(Training at 4:00, Shift 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.)
– Guest Ushers, Greeters, and Wayfinding: Greet family members, and guests; assist families with finding a seating location and/or other facilities; hand out programs; provide assistance for wayfinding and/or other needs.(Training at 4:00, Shift 4:30 – 7:30 p.m.)
– Namecard Tables: Staff the graduate namecard check-in tables; help students who don’t have a namecard; provide assistance for wayfinding and/or answering other questions.(Training at 4:00, Shift 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.)
– Ticket Resolution: Staff will help with resolving ticket issues for guests (Training at 4:00, Shift 4:00 – 7:30 p.m.)
Please fill out the staff volunteer form below by April 23 to let us know of your interest. You will receive a follow-up email to confirm your volunteer assignment and provide additional details.

Faculty: Cheer on Students at Commencement 2026

All faculty are strongly encouraged to participate in the clapping tunnel in full regalia at Commencement on May 7. You will NOT need to reserve a ticket for the ceremony; however, you will need a faculty pass to enter U.S. Bank Stadium. Please complete the faculty sign-up form below by April 23 to let us know you plan to attend so that your credentials will be available when you arrive.

Summer Community Advisors provide resources and support, help ensure the safety and security of on-campus communities, and deliver exceptional service to community members and guests. They assist with summer conferences and guest experiences and provide project-based support for Augsburg Residence Life.
If you’re interested in joining the Summer Residence Life team, you can apply until applications close on Thursday, April 9, 2026.

Free Narcan Training April 13

This year’s week celebrating collegiate recovery is Monday, 4/13, through Friday, 4/17. The StepUp program will be celebrating all week with a unique event each day, and they are collaborating with the Augsburg Psychological assoisation for their first event, a free Narcan training, where students, staff, and faculty will be trained on how to prevent an emergency overdose situation using Narcan. Every participant will be provided with Narcan to take with them. Come learn how to save a life with us!

Fiction Workshop + Publication Talk April 17

Join us in Hagfors 150A at 3pm on Friday, 4/17 for some creative writing activities as well as a discussion on process and publishing fiction, led by Lindsay Starck, Director of Augsburg’s MFA Program. Participants will also have the opportunity to submit their work to be featured in the 51st issue of Thó Wiŋ Magazine, Augsburg’s official literary arts publication.
