MN Paid Family Leave Committee

submitted by freder@augsburg.edu

Augsburg is preparing for the implementation of Minnesota’s Paid Family and Medical Leave (MN PFML), which takes effect on January 1, 2026. This new statewide program will impact how medical and family leave are administered and paid to employees. We want to ensure that our planning reflects the needs and perspectives of our campus community.

We are forming an MN PFML Advisory Committee and are seeking benefits-eligible faculty and staff who are interested in participating.
The committee will be comprised of representatives from
-Human Resources
-OPEIU
-Local70
-University Council
-Benefits-eligible staff
-Benefits-eligible faculty

The committee will:
-Provide feedback on policy development and communication strategies
-Help identify potential challenges or areas for clarification.

The committee will meet three to five times from May to August, as determined by the committee.

If you are interested in representing benefits-eligible staff or faculty on this committee, please the linked Google Form by May 5th. Please include a brief statement of why you are interested in joining this committee.
Your voice and input are valuable as we navigate this important change together.
