Businesses in Cedar-Riverside and Seward have been experiencing serious declines in sales–show up with your hearts and cash on Wednesday, January 21st. We’ll be meeting in the lobby of Christensen Center at 9:00 am and walking to Rebecca’s Bakery for coffee and pastries. Rebecca’s is the namesake of the owner’s daughter who is also an Auggie! Come for some of the best Ethiopian coffee in town and a selection of tasty sweet and savory goods.
Next Tuesday the 27th at Noon we’ll meet at the Sabo Center in Oren Gateway Center (right across from Nabo Cafe) and will walk to Nasiib Restaurant for lunch. Nasiib has amazing Somali food and has been generously feeding community members showing up to provide support for the neighborhood.
If you can’t make either of these dates, stay tuned for more opportunities from the Sabo Center. We’re hoping to plan a date once a week. If you would like to otherwise support neighborhood business, please check out our Augsburg Local website: https://www.augsburg.edu/sabo/programs/augsburg-local/. Lots of places have wonderful family platters that you can order for take-out, including Oasis, which is very close to campus. Email gilmerje@gmail.com with any questions or for recommendations!
