Interested in outdoor education, environmental justice, river studies, and political organizing? Today from 12:00 – 1:00 in OGC 100, we will be discussing several upcoming programs on the Mississippi River. ENV 310: Outdoor Leadership, Justice, and Sustainability will be offered in Fall 2026. The class is offered on campus but includes a five-day trip by sailboat down the river from St. Paul to Lake Pepin in late September. Students in that class will learn about leadership, sustainability, and community building around social justice issues. Jason Lukasik and Joe Underhill will also be offering a short-term summer course in outdoor education on the river in June 2027. And we are working on tentative plans for additional programming in Fall 2027 and Summer 2028. Stop by to learn more about opportunities and possibilities for learning on the river.
