Building Access and Unaccompanied Minors

submitted by brownell@augsburg.edu

Augsburg College is in the process of implementing new guidelines for access to public spaces on campus. These efforts will prohibit persons under the age of 18 from being in campus buildings. Exceptions will be those who are accompanied by a parent or guardian and those participating in a College sponsored or recognized program. These measures are being taken to reduce incidents of crime affecting members of our campus community as well as create safeguards for the minors themselves. Temporary signage will be placed in regularly visited public spaces. Exterior building notification will be incorporated in to planned signage updates.

If unaccompanied minors are believed to be in campus buildings, please contact DPS at 612-330-1717. If you have any questions related to this implementation, please contact DPS Director Scott Brownell at brownell@augsburg.edu.
