Farewell to Carrie Shidla – October 30th

submitted by comerc@augsburg.edu

It is with mixed emotions that I announce Carrie Shidla’s resignation from Augsburg effective October 31st. She will be joining Normandale Community College as their Associate Director of Advising and Career Services.

We will be honoring Carrie on Monday, October 30th from 2:30 – 4 pm in the Christensen Center Art Gallery. Short remarks will be made at 3:00 pm and all are welcome to attend.

In her 14+ years of service, Carrie has developed strong and lasting relationships across campus with faculty, staff, and students. In Academic Advising, Carrie restructured first-year advising and registration several times, adjusting for changing software–and most importantly–student need. She developed a reputation as a strategic problem-solver.

In August of 2016, Carrie joined a newly designed graduation and transfer team in the Registrar’s Office. She quickly embraced her new role and has brought a deeply student-centered perspective to the work. Her ability to navigate complex curricular nuance has led to the implementation of several process and policy changes that have and will continue to impact the recruitment, matriculation, and graduation of students.

We will all miss Carrie’s passion, expertise, positive attitude, and partnership. Please join us in celebrating Carrie and wishing her great success in her vocational journey.
