Public Safety and Facilities Announcements

Urness/Christensen Center Generator Repair May 13

The emergency lighting in Urness Hall and Christensen Center will be temporarily down to repair the emergency generator on Tuesday, May 13th starting at 7:00a- 4:00p. The emergency power shutdown will affect all emergency lighting in some corridors and stairwells. Contact Facilities Management for any questions or concerns.

THR280 – Fashion, Costumes, and Stage Makeup
Fall 2025, Monday, Wednesday, Friday (10:50 – 11:50am) 4 credits

Counts towards Arts Core Curriculum requirements. No prerequisites.
Course is only offered every 2 years.

Instructor: Stacey Palmer; MFA Costume and Scenic Design and Theatre Historiography, BS Apparel Design and Theatre Arts (palmerst@augsburg.edu)

This course will cover topics such as elements and principles of art and design, fashion designers in film, history of stage makeup and techniques, tattoos in theater, rendering costumes, facial hair, costumes in opera, fabric identification, how clothing is a form of nonverbal communication, and much more. Explore the creative process behind fashion and theatrical costume design.

Fashion, Costumes, and Stage Makeup is great for future theater artists, artists and designers of any medium, History majors, English majors, and those who simply appreciate the visual arts and want to gain more knowledge about this field!

YST 210: Rethinking Children and Youth

Society often expects children and youth to be seen and not heard. This course will develop an understanding of children and youth that will allow us to engage them as assets and agents of positive change.

This class is great for future youth workers, social workers, educators, coaches, and youth mentors!

Central Services Summer Hours

Central Services will be switching to their summer hours starting May 12, 2025.

Copy Center will be open 9am to 4pm, Monday through Friday.

Shipping/Receiving will be open 10am to 3pm, Monday through Friday with limited deliveries. Our student workers are limited to two hours per day and will primarily be delivering to department offices/work hubs only. This helps ensure we can deliver to all of the departments who need deliveries. If you have a special case please contact mailship@augsburg.edu to make arrangements ahead of time.

Mailroom no longer has public hours. Please stop into the Copy Center or email mailship@augsburg.edu if you need help.
