Back to School Workshops: RSVP August 28 AI Keynote and Lunch

The Augsburg Center for Teaching and Learning invites all faculty and staff to join us for two engaging days of professional development, Wednesday, August 27 and Thursday, August 28, 9 am to 4 pm.

Wednesday, 9 -11am will begin with school directors hosting all school meetings.

Keynote & Lunch, Thursday, August 28, 9 am, Marshall Room. Please join us for a keynote address and lunch with Dr. John O’Brien, Chair of the Augsburg Board of Regents, and President & CEO of EDUCAUSE, on the integration of generative AI in higher education. Please RSVP by August 12 for this special event.

The full workshop schedule of breakout sessions will be available August 8.

Student Workshop: Writing Personal Statements

Are you applying for a Fulbright, grad school, or another major fellowship or opportunity? Are you struggling to write the personal statements? One of the most important kinds of writing, this genre is also one of the hardest to do well.

Please join one or more of the following sessions to learn about the fundamentals of writing personal statements, generate ideas, and workshop drafts in process (if you have one.)

Looking for Volunteers

Hello everyone, we are conducting research in the Biopsychology Lab under Dr. Henry Yoon and we are looking for volunteers to participate in an EEG assessment. The process typically takes about 2 hours and you would be compensated with a $40 Target Gift Card for your participation. Christensen Symposium: Three Local Chefs

This year’s Christensen Symposium will feature three local chefs:

Lachelle Cunningham of Chelle’s Kitchen and Healthy Roots Institute
Sean Sherman of Owamni and NATIFS
Yia Vang of Union Hmong Kitchen and Vinai

These three will share their stories as chefs and community leaders who put their craft, values, cultures, dreams, and responsibilities into practice everyday through their vocation, profession, and daily lives.
