Hello Auggies! I am a graduate student seeking participants for a research study. I am exploring how one’s ability to recognize and regulate their own and others’ emotions may relate to feelings of depression and social disconnect. Participation in this study will involve completing a series of behavioral health inventories and a demographic screener that will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. These inventories will ask if you have experienced symptoms of depression or loneliness and ask how intensely you experience your everyday emotions. Following completion of these inventories, participants will complete a test online that will walk participants through a variety of different tasks, such as recognition of facial expressions and implied social meanings. This test will take approximately 45 minutes to complete. All participation in this study is done online from the comfort of your own home. Students are invited to participate in this study if you: (1) are between the ages of 18 and 31; (2) have not been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, schizophrenia, or a personality disorder; (3) have not experienced an interpersonally traumatic life event (i.e., assault by another human being); and (4) are not currently experiencing a major health concern (i.e., life threatening illness/injury or significant transplant/removal surgery).
For your time, participants will be entered into a random lottery drawing for one of three $100 Amazon gift cards!

My name is Dean Harris, and I am a doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology Department at Augsburg University. I am conducting this study as partial fulfillment of my doctoral degree, with Dr. Patricia Hopkins-Smith as my advisor.
You are being invited to participate in a research study on investigating influences of intrapersonal factors on the relationship between casual sex and mental health. Our study focuses on experiences of casual sex in individuals who identify as single or recently single (i.e., have not been in a relationship longer than one month). As such, if you indicated you were in a relationship for longer than one month, you do not meet our study eligibility criteria. We respect and appreciate individuals in various types of relationships, including open or ethically non-monogamous ones, but our current study’s scope is limited to investigating casual sex in those who identify as single (or recently single). If you agree to this study, I will ask you to complete a survey via Qualtrics. This survey will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. After completing all the survey questions, you will be invited, if you wish, to provide contact information to enter in the raffle to win one of three $50 gift card prizes, and/or emailed the results at the end of the study’s conclusion.

We’ll discuss narratives from Part 3: “Doing” on Tuesday, January 30, 4:00-5:00 pm in Lindell Library, Room 301. We welcome you (students, faculty, and staff) to this discussion regardless of how much of the book you read! Snacks will be provided. Faculty/Staff can apply this event toward Good/Advanced standing for the Diversity & Inclusion Certificate.

The Strommen Center will not have drop in hours from December 18th through January 15th. If you need to meet with a career coach or need resume, interview, or job/internship help, please make an appointment with us on Handshake.
Additionally, the Strommen Center will be closed from December 22nd through January 2nd for the winter holidays. We will reopen on Tuesday, January 3rd.

Hello Auggies,
DPS hopes everyone is having a stress free and successful finals week. We just wanted to announce the parking plans for both winter break and spring semester. If you have already bought a full year permit, you can disregard this message as it doesn’t apply to you.
WINTER BREAK: On December 16, all fall semester passes will expire. If you plan on staying over winter break, you can purchase a winter break permit for $50 through the Inside Augsburg Parking Services tab on December 16. Even first-year resident students will be able to purchase this permit for winter break. The pass will expire on January 15, 2024.
SPRING SEMESTER: Next week Monday (December 18), passes for the Spring 2024 semester will go on sale. Those can be purchased through the Augsburg Parking Services tab. Please note: this will be the first semester that we will no longer be using physical hang tags.
UNDERGROUND PASSES: If you previously purchased a Fall Underground pass, expect an email from DPS asking if you’d like to re-up for Spring Semester. If you were put on the waiting list, you’ll also be receiving an email about how to purchase an underground pass. If we have any additional passes left over in either underground garages, we will announce via email.
The entire DPS team wants to thank everyone for their cooperation and feedback with our new virtual permit system. As always, please make sure that you accurately register your vehicle(s). Even if you’re off by one number or letter, you can be ticketed by the cameras. Additionally, we’d like to remind everyone that if you drive more than one vehicle or get a new license plate, you MUST register these vehicles to your parking account. The LPRs (License Plate Reader cameras) won’t recognize another vehicle you drive if you haven’t registered it, regardless of whether you bought a permit or not.

Even first-year residents are eligible for this permit. The permit lasts until January 15. If you have already bought a year or fall permit, you can disregard this.
Additionally, we’d like to remind everyone that if you drive more than one vehicle or get a new license plate, you MUST register these vehicles to your parking account. The LPRs (License Plate Reader cameras) won’t recognize another vehicle you drive if you haven’t registered it, regardless of whether you bought a permit or not.

The Minnesota Urban Debate League is a program of Augsburg University that provides academic competitive debate programming. This summer, we’re hosting our annual Summer Speech & Debate Camp. The camp is hosted on Augsburg University’s campus, is now open for registration!
We have camps ranging from 3 days to 3 weeks in all types of forensics, from policy debate to speech. These labs are divided by level of experience, so we have camps that are suitable for total beginners, intermediate, and advanced students!

Middle school and high school students are welcome to join us for 5 weeks of fun, learning, and growth this summer. These are day camps that are hosted on Augsburg University’s campus. Lunch in Augsburg’s cafeteria is provided with tuition.
Please note that you need to register with a $5 deposit to apply for scholarships. The priority deadline is April 21st, and we have multiple ways to help keep camp affordable for you and your family. We have grants of up to $1,000 to cover camp tuition depending on income level. We also have other supplementary scholarships and payment plans. My name is Dean Harris, and I am a doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology Department at Augsburg University. I am conducting this study as partial fulfillment of my doctoral degree, with Dr. Patricia Hopkins-Smith as my advisor.
You are being invited to participate in a research study on investigating influences of intrapersonal factors on the relationship between casual sex and mental health. Our study focuses on experiences of casual sex in individuals who identify as single or recently single (i.e., have not been in a relationship longer than one month). As such, if you indicated you were in a relationship for longer than one month, you do not meet our study eligibility criteria. We respect and appreciate individuals in various types of relationships, including open or ethically non-monogamous ones, but our current study’s scope is limited to investigating casual sex in those who identify as single (or recently single). If you agree to this study, I will ask you to complete a survey via Qualtrics. This survey will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. After completing all the survey questions, you will be invited, if you wish, to provide contact information to enter in the raffle to win one of three $50 gift card prizes, and/or emailed the results at the end of the study’s conclusion.

The training, entitled Understanding and Using Cultural Intelligence, will allow participants to revisit the previous annual anti-racism trainings and introduce connections to Cultural Intelligence (CQ) to practically fight oppression and its many tenets in a university setting. CQ will be used to help participants better connect with themselves and others while examining oppressive behaviors, assumptions, and mindsets.

Hello Auggies! I am a graduate student seeking participants for a research study. I am exploring how one’s ability to recognize and regulate their own and others’ emotions may relate to feelings of depression and social disconnect. Participation in this study will involve completing a series of behavioral health inventories and a demographic screener that will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. These inventories will ask if you have experienced symptoms of depression or loneliness and ask how intensely you experience your everyday emotions. Following completion of these inventories, participants will complete a test online that will walk participants through a variety of different tasks, such as recognition of facial expressions and implied social meanings. This test will take approximately 45 minutes to complete. All participation in this study is done online from the comfort of your own home. Students are invited to participate in this study if you: (1) are between the ages of 18 and 31; (2) have not been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, schizophrenia, or a personality disorder; (3) have not experienced an interpersonally traumatic life event (i.e., assault by another human being); and (4) are not currently experiencing a major health concern (i.e., life threatening illness/injury or significant transplant/removal surgery).
For your time, participants will be entered into a random lottery drawing for one of three $100 Amazon gift cards!

The Augsburg Writing Center offers both online and in-person tutoring. Skilled students will work with you one-on-one at whatever stage of writing you are in – the idea-development stage, the drafting stage, and the revision stage – and can show you how to choose an appropriate essay topic, how to develop a thesis statement and paragraphs, how to revise your essay, or assist with any other writing needs you may have. It is time to register for the Augsburg University Annual Anti-Racism Training. This year the training will be led by Dr. Abdul M. Omari, founder and principal of AMO Enterprise. The training, entitled Understanding and Using Cultural Intelligence, will allow participants to revisit the previous annual anti-racism trainings and introduce connections to Cultural Intelligence (CQ) to practically fight oppression and its many tenets in a university setting. CQ will be used to help participants better connect with themselves and others while examining oppressive behaviors, assumptions, and mindsets.

My name is Dean Harris, and I am a doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology Department at Augsburg University. I am conducting this study as partial fulfillment of my doctoral degree, with Dr. Patricia Hopkins-Smith as my advisor.
You are being invited to participate in a research study on investigating influences of intrapersonal factors on the relationship between casual sex and mental health. Our study focuses on experiences of casual sex in individuals who identify as single or recently single (i.e., have not been in a relationship longer than one month). As such, if you indicated you were in a relationship for longer than one month, you do not meet our study eligibility criteria. We respect and appreciate individuals in various types of relationships, including open or ethically non-monogamous ones, but our current study’s scope is limited to investigating casual sex in those who identify as single (or recently single). If you agree to this study, I will ask you to complete a survey via Qualtrics. This survey will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. After completing all the survey questions, you will be invited, if you wish, to provide contact information to enter in the raffle to win one of three $50 gift card prizes, and/or emailed the results at the end of the study’s conclusion.

The deadline to charge online bookstore purchases to your student account is Tuesday, January 23rd. Bookstore purchases can be charged to your student account in-person until Friday, January 26th.
Students are able to charge up to $750 per semester to their student account to allow you to easily utilize excess financial aid to pay for textbooks and supplies. The Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Summer Enrichment Program is a six-week summer program, held in Washington, DC, designed to provide undergraduate students with a deeper appreciation of current issues and trends in international affairs, a greater understanding of career opportunities in international affairs, and the enhanced knowledge and skills to pursue such careers. This program helps students explore graduate school, scholarship, fellowship, internship, and professional options in international affairs. Groups historically underrepresented in the Foreign Service, women, and those with financial need are encouraged to apply.

Hello Auggies! I am a graduate student seeking participants for a research study. I am exploring how one’s ability to recognize and regulate their own and others’ emotions may relate to feelings of depression and social disconnect. Participation in this study will involve completing a series of behavioral health inventories and a demographic screener that will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. These inventories will ask if you have experienced symptoms of depression or loneliness and ask how intensely you experience your everyday emotions. Following completion of these inventories, participants will complete a test online that will walk participants through a variety of different tasks, such as recognition of facial expressions and implied social meanings. This test will take approximately 45 minutes to complete. All participation in this study is done online from the comfort of your own home. Students are invited to participate in this study if you: (1) are between the ages of 18 and 31; (2) have not been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, schizophrenia, or a personality disorder; (3) have not experienced an interpersonally traumatic life event (i.e., assault by another human being); and (4) are not currently experiencing a major health concern (i.e., life threatening illness/injury or significant transplant/removal surgery).
For your time, participants will be entered into a random lottery drawing for one of three $100 Amazon gift cards!
