Based on the results of a facilities review on Monday, January 30, we have more information about the repair and subsequent cleaning required following the fire this weekend in Christensen Center. To support the required work, Christensen Center third floor will be closed for repairs through Monday, February 27. The main and lower levels of Christensen Center will remain open during this time.
Environmental Assurance and other companies will monitor air quality on third floor and elsewhere in the building; no hazardous air quality conditions will result from this recovery work. The recovery work will require heavy use of the elevators in Christensen Center, but any materials transported will not affect air quality.
As a reminder:
Einstein’s will remain open during its regular hours:
Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m.-9 p.m.
Friday, 7:30 a.m.-8 p.m.
Saturday, 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
Resident Students: Food service for resident students with meal plans will continue to be provided at Nabo, in Oren Gateway Center, during the hours posted below. Residence Life staff will communicate additional information about meal plans directly to the students with those plans.
Monday-Friday service
Breakfast, 7:30 a.m.-9:45 a.m., Lunch, 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Salad & Deli: 1:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m., Dinner, 4:30 p.m.-7 p.m.
Saturday-Sunday service
Brunch: 11:30am until 1:00pm, Dinner: 5:00pm until 7:00pm
Non-Resident Students, Faculty, Staff: Because Nabo will be focused on providing dining services for resident students with meal plans, all non-resident students, faculty and staff are encouraged to visit Nabo only during non-meal times (see above). It will take a couple of days to get accustomed to the temporary dining service operations, which may mean some lines or delays at certain times. Students: please plan ahead based on their class schedules. Faculty: please be flexible if students are delayed in getting to class as a result of longer-than-typical waiting times for meals.
