COVID-19 is currently spreading in the homeless shelters and encampments with many confirmed cases. We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to call the governor and mayor to immediately evacuate shelters and place individuals into hotels. In light of the St. Paul woman who was accidentally bulldozed while her camp was being evicted, we are also calling the state, city and park board to explicitly allow encampments by opening park grounds and facilities as well. We are organizing this through phone zap where we call and ask for this to be addressed in an organized effort.
