Free Virtual Therapy Support for the African-American Community

submitted by oliverc@augsburg.edu

The Boris L Henson foundation is offering up to five free teletherapy sessions, on a first come first serve basis, to members of the African American community who are experiencing life changing events due to or related to the COVID 19.

From their website:

“COVID-19 has had a profound and unprecedented impact on all of our daily lives. The COVID-19 Free Virtual Therapy Support campaign was developed to cover the cost for virtual or tele-therapy services by licensed, culturally competent clinicians in our network for up to five (5) sessions. This campaign is exclusive to individuals and families experiencing a life-changing event(s) related to or triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic. First come, first serve until all funds are exhausted. Sign up!”

In addition, CWC staff are available to meet directly with all students via phone or Zoom through the last day of final exams, and can help you connect with resources in the community for the summer. Call our main number: 612-330-1707 to set up an appointment. And all Augsburg students will have phone access to licensed mental health counselors 24-7 over summer break by calling our main number and selecting option one.
