Student Volunteers Needed for April 27 Event—$50 Gift Card

A number of volunteers are needed to take notes at a community engagement event in the Seward neighborhood on April 27. This event will feature presentations and conversation about the vision for the former Bethany Lutheran Church property at 2511 E. Franklin Ave. Augsburg recently announced an agreement to sell the property to the Somali Museum of Minnesota to develop a permanent museum facility and cultural center on the site.

WHAT: Weaving Together the Past, Present, and Future of 2511 E. Franklin Ave.
WHEN: Saturday, April 27, 2024, 12:30–3:30 p.m. (arrive by 12:45)
WHERE: Matthews Recreation Center, 2318 29th Ave. S., Minneapolis

Volunteers will take notes at small group discussions during the second half of the event (bring a laptop or transcribe your notes into a digital document within 48 hours). All notes will be gathered, summarized and given to a graphic facilitator who will create an illustrated report of the day. Student volunteers will receive a $50 gift card as a thank-you.
