Augsburg mathematics, computer science, data science, and physics majors Fatima Abdi (’26), Ivie Taft (’26), and Jerid McDonald (‘28) attended the Annual Pi Mu Epsilon Mathematics Honor Society Conference, April 10-11 at St. John’s University, Collegeville, MN. Dr. Haines accompanied the students.
Fatima presented the URGO-funded summer research conducted by her and four of her co-scholars under the direction of the Dr. John Zobitz. The presentation “Forecasting soil carbon fluxes with machine learning at sites in the National Ecological Observatory Network” was very well received.
