Fulbright Information Sessions: Teach or Research Abroad after Graduation

submitted by devries@augsburg.edu

A Fulbright Award gives you the opportunity to teach, research, or study abroad for an academic year after graduation. The process of applying is invaluable and winning the award is a life-changing experience. The Augsburg URGO office provides support to you in the application process, even if you’ve already graduated.

To be eligible and competitive you need to:
– Be a U.S. citizen or national
– Have a 3.0 or higher GPA for serving as an English Teaching Assistant
– Have a 3.5 or higher to conduct research or attend graduate school abroad
– Be an active member in the Augsburg community or your home community
– Have effective skills to adapt to another culture and serve as a cultural ambassador of the U.S. to your host country

If you are a junior, senior, or recent graduate, you would start working on your application this summer. The campus deadline is Friday, September 4, 2026. Winners are announced in Spring 2027 for placement in Fall 2027.

If you would like to learn more, please schedule an appointment with Prof. Jacqui deVries, Augsburg’s Fulbright Program Advisor, by emailing her: devries@ausgburg.edu.
