Yes, we know the garden still doesn’t look much like a garden, but it’s on it’s way!
Last week we got “rock column” drains in the raised beds to prepare for more rain and approved a new soil mix for the top 10 inches of all the gardens that will help our plants flourish.
This week’s happenings:
-Student communal garden plots being creatively planned and planted on the south edge
-Prairie plantings and apple trees installed on the west edge
-New soil added to all beds
-Gardeners finally planting beginning Wednesday!!
Stay tuned for updates on special events, and feel free to come out and wander through the garden, thank all the landscaping crew for their overtime work these last couple weeks, and meet some gardeners!
If you have extra rhubarb, raspberries, strawberries, herbs, or vegetable starts that need a new home, you can drop them off on top of one of the benches in the garden and we will find a good spot for them.

Congratulations to Kristina Fruge, Program Manager for the Riverside Innovation Hub and Catherine Maun, Senior Financial Aid Counselor for receiving the April Auggie Pride Awards. This passion to go above and beyond to help students is a true inspiration. Staff Senate admires the work they do everyday and are honored to award them with this month’s Auggie Pride Award.

Augsburg Faculty and Staff:
You are invited to attend the twenty-fourth annual Vocation of a Lutheran College Conference at Augsburg University from Monday, July 16 to Wednesday, July 18.
Each year, five faculty members from each of the ELCA Colleges come together to explore the distinct roles that they play in higher education. One of the benefits being the host site is that we have the option of inviting more than five people to attend. This year’s theme is “Civil Discourse in a Fragmented and Multi-Religious Society.”
The conference will begin with an opening session at 5 pm followed by a dinner at 7:00 pm on July 16 and conclude by 1:00 pm on July 18.
Register and learn more on the conference website:
