You are invited to reserve up to 2 free tickets for seating in the C section at any of the three upcoming Twin Cities performances of Empire, Religion, War, Peace: Music from Europe’s 30-Year Conflict, 1618-1648. This concert prominently features Germany’s greatest composer of the early Baroque, Heinrich Schütz, whose Lutheran liturgical music was the first to employ the German language in the dramatic (operatic) style taking Italy by storm. The program is a collaboration between the voices of St. Paul’s internationally acclaimed The Rose Ensemble and the historical brass players of the bi-coastal Dark Horse Consort. Kristina Boerger, Augsburg’s Professor of Choral Leadership, will be a featured soprano with The Rose Ensemble, and the Augsburg Choir under her direction will be sharing the stage on three numbers in the concert. Performance dates are 11/16, 8pm at University Lutheran Church of Hope in Minneapolis; 11/17, 8pm at Church of Saint Albert the Great in Minneapolis and 11/18, 3pm at Church of the Assumption in St. Paul.
