Kei Heltemes ’21 awarded Rossing Physics Scholarship

URGO is proud to share that Kei Heltemes (’21) has been awarded a Rossing Physics Scholarship in the amount of $5000 for the 2020-21 Academic Year. The Rossing Scholarship is offered to students at ELCA-affiliated colleges and universities who show particular promise in the field of physics.

Kei is a double physics and chemistry (ACS-approved) major, with a minor in mathematics. He was named a Lindstrom Scholar as a part of the URGO Summer Research program in 2018, performing research with Dr. Amanda Case. Since then, he has performed research with Dr. Jeff Walter at the Leighton Laboratory at the University of Minnesota. He is an AugSTEM student, an Honors student, has worked as a tutor in both physics and chemistry, and is the vice president of the Society of Physics Students and the Augsburg Chemistry Society. He has received departmental awards from both the Physics and Chemistry Departments for his academic achievement.
