Echo Special Edition on Displacement Looking for Contributors

submitted by sosaz@augsburg.edu

This Spring, the Echo newspaper will be putting together a special edition issue apart from our weekly issues, that focuses on one topic: Displacement.

Recently, we have seen our neighbors displaced. Perhaps you know someone forced to move out due to the cost of living crisis, saw state troopers destroy tents at the Quarry encampment, or know a resident of the flooded Bell Loft apartments. We believe the Augsburg community should remain conscious of the severity of this issue.

WHAT TO SUBMIT:
We are seeking student contributions for this special edition of the Echo, including by not limited to:
-Personal essays
-Interviews/Profile pieces
-Visual Art, Poetry, Short Stories
-Investigative reporting
-Photojournalism
-Calls to Action
inspired by or centered around the houseless community/experience or the topic of displacement.

First drafts won’t be due until Wednesday, March 8th!

Due to limited budget and publication space, all contributions are guaranteed a minimum of $15.
—-We are offering a higher rate to a visual artist willing to collaborate with us on this issue’s cover. If interested, please send examples of your work to echo@augsburg.edu
