Farewell and Gratitude for Charlotte Swanson

submitted by vachta@augsburg.edu

It is with mixed emotions that we announce that Charlotte Swanson, our Student Employment Specialist extraordinaire, has decided to embark on a new chapter. Charlotte’s official last day at Augsburg will be Friday December 6.

Charlotte joined Augsburg in January 2020, initially planning to support the Human Resources team for just a few months. Nearly five years later, her dedication, resourcefulness, and kindness have transformed our department and left a lasting mark on the university. From building and streamlining HR & student employment processes to offering compassionate guidance to countless Auggies and their supervisors, Charlotte has been a dependable and encouraging presence for everyone she’s worked with. Her ability to lead with care and enthusiasm (and a great playlist) has enriched the Human Resources team and the entire Augsburg community.

Charlotte’s impact will undoubtedly be felt for years to come, and her presence will be deeply missed. Please join us in celebrating her contributions and wishing her all the best for her next chapter.

We will celebrate Charlotte’s time at Augsburg with a farewell open house on Thursday, December 5th, from 1–3 PM in the Human Resources office (Memorial 20).

Make Your Benefit Elections Now – Final Week of Open Enrollment

submitted by vachta@augsburg.edu

2025 Open Enrollment: November 11 – November 24, 2024

Open Enrollment is the only time of year when you may elect or change your benefits for the coming year, unless you experience a qualifying life event.

During open enrollment, no action means no coverage.

Employees who fail to act by November 24 will not have coverage effective January 1, 2025, and must wait until the next open enrollment period to elect coverage, unless a qualifying life event occurs.

Access the 2025 Enrollment Form: Inside Augsburg > Administrative Tasks > Open Enrollment

Every benefits-eligible employee must act by electing or declining health, dental or vision insurance coverages and a flexible spending or health savings account.

Your 2024 elections WILL NOT automatically carry over to 2025

Benefits-eligible employees are required to complete the online enrollment form for the 2025 elections even if you elect to waive your 2025 coverage.

Visit the HR website to view recorded information sessions: https://sites.augsburg.edu/hr/employees/benefits/open-enrollment/

Tian Auditions TODAY and TOMORROW

submitted by schonc@augsburg.edu

This year’s student-directed play “Tian” starts auditions today through tomorrow. Whether you are already experienced on stage, or want to dive into a new adventure – we are so excited to meet you. All necessary information, including our Instagram and the sign-up sheet, can be found here: https://linktr.ee/tianplay

Play Description: Who owns history? And who is allowed to tell its stories? The student-written piece Tian centers around these fundamental questions. This conflict becomes clear when the audience is led through the life of romantic poet Karoline von Günderrode by two characters with two very different claims to Karoline’s story: Bettine von Arnim, contemporary and close friend of Karoline, who wants to paint a strong, feminist picture; and the Playwright whose goal is to create an enticing, heart wrenching play. The audience finds themselves in the in-betweens of history, whilst being part of Karoline’s personal journey filled with struggles, doubt, and dreams.

Auditions for Tian TOMORROW

submitted by schonc@augsburg.edu

This year’s student-directed play “Tian” auditions this Tuesday and Wednesday.
