Hennepin County District 4 Candidate Forum
Thursday, May 3, 6:30-8:30 PM
University Lutheran Church of Hope 601 13th Ave. SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414

ISAIAH, a state-wide organization of congregations, clergy and people of faith working for racial and economic justice in MN, is organizing this
Hennepin County Commissioner Candidates’ Forum to bring the debate on protecting immigrant families in Hennepin County to the forefront of this November’s election. Despite their low profile, the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners oversees Hennepin County’s $2 billion annual budget and there are multiple seats up for election! Especially given the discouraging state of federal immigration policy, there’s a lot that can and must be done at the county level to protect immigrant families in our community from deportation. Come learn about what these candidates are willing to do to help make our county a safe place for all and ensure that this important issue receives the attention it deserves.

Speakers will include our very own Professor Mzenga Wanyama (currently facing the threat of deportation) and an Augsburg student, speaking from their own experience. Come show your support and get informed about this important part of this November’s elections!

Candidates Angela Conley, Megan Kuhl-Stennes and Peter McLaughlin have confirmed their participation
