Big Shred Event May 30

Augsburg faculty and staff are invited to bring personal confidential documents to be shredded on Thursday, May 30th between 8:30-9:30 am. The Shred Right truck will be parked between Lindell Library and Sverdrup Hall under the walkway. There will be no charge for this event. Up to 2 bags will be accepted. Nathan Lind and Erin Sugrue are inviting you to be a part of the conversation. Please consider adding your expertise to the discussion. Share your experiences using our current primary campus QR software, HyperResearch, and other software options, including NVIVO, Dedoose, and Atlas.ti.

The trouble is that most of us use only a small percentage of the features available because finding and learning them takes time. $10 Target gift card to participate in lower back and physical activity research

Dear Augsburg Students, Faculty, and Staff,
You are invited to participate in a research study on Lower back pain, Physical Education participation, and Physical Activity Levels in Urban Midwest University students, faculty and staff. You will be asked to fill out a one-time survey and participate in a fitness assessment (sit and reach test and YMCA 3 minute step test). You will be compensated upon completion of the survey and testing with a $10 Target gift card.
Additionally, if you wish, you will be instructed to perform flexibility training for 6 weeks under the supervision exercise science students at Augsburg. There will be compensation for follow up visits ($5 Target gift card each time).

Lockers Available to Commuter Students Over Summer

New Director of LGBTQIA+ Student Services/Coordinator of Equity & Inclusion Initiatives

Student Affairs is pleased to announce that Max Poessnecker will be the new Director of LGBTQIA+ Student Services/Coordinator of Equity & Inclusion Initiatives! Max will begin on June 17, 2019.

Max received his BS in Communication Studies from Wayne State College and his MS in Counseling and Student Personnel from Minnesota State University, Mankato. During his master’s degree program, Max was a graduate intern at Augsburg in LGBTQIA+ Student Services. Most recently, Max was the Associate Director of Student Life and Director of LGBTQ Services at Century College. In addition, Max currently teaches Race, Gender, and Popular Culture as well as Transgender Identities at Metropolitan State University.

We are excited to welcome (back) Max to Student Affairs and Augsburg University!

Discounted summer Metro passes for sale in the bookstore

Augsburg students can purchase a Metro summer pass for $65.00 (subsidized from $85.00) in the Augsburg Bookstore. Summer Semester dates are June 1 through August 15, 2019.

Pass sales will continue until July 1.

For the fall:
–Day program students will receive an Auggie Pass, a year-long Metro Pass good from August 1, 2019 – May 30, 2020.
–Paid for by Metro Transit, Augsburg day student Green Fee, and Augsburg University.

Graduate and AU students can purchase a subsidized fall semester pass through the bookstore.
