Public Safety and Facilities Announcements

Bike Removal

Public Safety and Facilities will be working to remove any abandoned bicycles from the bike racks around campus on 5/24/2019. Any bikes that have a pink hangtag left on the handlebars will be removed and moved into DPS storage.

If you do not want your bike removed, please remove the pink hangtag from your bicycle and return it to the Public Safety dispatch center before Friday, 5/24.

Big Shred Event May 30

Augsburg faculty and staff are invited to bring personal confidential documents to be shredded on Thursday, May 30th between 8:30-9:30 am. The Shred Right truck will be parked between Lindell Library and Sverdrup Hall under the walkway. There will be no charge for this event. Up to 2 bags will be accepted. Compensation to Participate in an Auggie Skate Test Research Proposal

Dear Augsburg Students, Faculty, and Staff,
You are invited to participate in a research study on Predicting Maximal Oxygen Consumption with a Single Stage Auggie Skate Test. Research subjects are asked to be within 25-50 years old, healthy, active, moderately-fit male or female, and is a competent skater. You will be asked to complete a bruce protocol treadmill test to volitional fatigue and to return 48 hours later to complete a leisurely ice skating assessment. You will be compensated upon completion of each test with a $5 Target gift card for a total of $10.

$10 Target gift card to participate in lower back and physical activity research

“Dear Augsburg Students, Faculty, and Staff, you are invited to participate in a research study on Lower back pain, Physical Education participation, and Physical Activity Levels in Urban Midwest University students, faculty and staff. You will be asked to fill out a one-time survey and participate in a fitness assessment (sit and reach test and YMCA 3 minute step test). You will be compensated upon completion of the survey and testing with a $10 Target gift card.
Additionally, if you wish, you will be instructed to perform flexibility training for 6 weeks under the supervision exercise science students at Augsburg. There will be compensation for follow up visits ($5 Target gift card each time). Summer course in Project Management open to faculty and staff for audit or credit

ML 599 | Re-imagining Leadership for 21st Century Projects

Successful project management is strongly correlated to good leadership of teams. Corporate, non-profit, and public sector projects are increasing in complexity requiring the close collaboration and coordination of disparate disciplines, organizations, and teams. This course will help you unpack the critical leadership skills needed to form and lead teams to optimal project outcomes using emotional intelligence, communication, conflict management, and clarity of strategic vision and purpose.
