Friday, April 22nd is Earth Day. We are dedicating the entire month of April to celebrate our Home. Join us in attending the many events we have planned throughout the month!
Come rekindle community, self-heal, and reconnect with the Earth through celebrations during Earth Month. These Environmental Action Committee-supported events will allow you further connection to green spaces on campus, engagement with educational experiences by all forms of teachers, exploration of inclusive career paths, and the opportunity to build solidarity with social justice work bonded by intersectionality. Together in community, learn from Indigenous cultures, be rewarded with rest and find its productivity, fix your bike, have a ball with slow fashion, eat local, and then finish the month with a community bonfire into the sunset.

We welcomed them when they arrived, let’s support students as they move out, easing their transition from finals to summer break! From Wednesday 4/20 – MoveOut Day Friday 4/29, staff and faculty volunteers are needed to help students move out of their residence halls and sort donations going to the ShareShop and Sisterhood Boutique.
Residence Life and the ShareShop team are partnering to lead MoveOut with goals of easing students’ stress of moving, collecting donations so future students can make use of them, and diverting “waste” away from the Minneapolis incinerator. We now have *three* open Staff Senate positions to elect. Janice Dames, Campus Ministry, and Deanna Davis, Professional Studies have completed their two year terms and are stepping down after the 2021-2022 school year concludes. Joel Nicholson is stepping down as Staff Senator with one year remaining of his two-year term. Please nominate any colleague who you think would be a great fit! As we near the end of another year please don’t forget to take care of your campus mailbox. This includes checking it for any mail, returning your lock and filing out the survey for what you would like us to do with your mail after this semester.
Two weeks after the spring semester ends (May 16, 2021) we will be closing all student campus boxes. Then before the fall semester starts we will reassign them (possible new numbers) to all students living on campus. Commuter students can then request to have a campus box if they would like one.
If you would like your mail forwarded or would like to keep your mailbox open for the summer, please either fill out this survey (https://forms.gle/872EQGhwK1tCWiPB6) or send us an email (email@example.com) with any relevant information. There is also an option to be reassigned your current campus box number for the next semester if you will be returning in the fall.
We are only able to forward 1st Class USPS mail and packages. Other packages (UPS, FedEx, Amazon, etc.), magazines, non-profit mail and standard mail will not be forwarded. We can also only forward to USA addresses. The forwarding period for the Augsburg Mailroom is two months from when the request is submitted. Afterward any additional mail we receive will be returned to sender.
We request that you contact the people/business sending you mail and update your address with them. Enrolling in online/electronic bills or statements can also be a smart option. It is environmentally friendly, secure and will often save you time (and sometimes money). Asking us to forward your mail does not change your mailing address with the post office or the University, just the Mailroom.

Interested in Native American, First Nations, and Indigenous culture and history? If yes, this new course on expressing identity through art, music, and dance is for you! It is in registration as “Indigenous Forms of Cultural Expression”.
This course honors Indigenous contemporary cultural forms of expression including theater, film, new media, storytelling, literature, dance, and music both in our region and across Turtle Island. Throughout this course students will engage with the meaning of aesthetics in Indigenous culture, interact with guest artists and speakers, and explore how Indigenous culture shapes and is shaped by contemporary cultural contexts.
It fulfills an AIS requirement, a Humanities LAF and is 4 credits. No prerequisites

Greetings! It is that time of year again!
We are currently accepting applications for the Minnesota Technology Foundation Scholarship. The scholarships are for Minnesota undergraduate students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines. These awards range from $2,500 to $5,000 awards and can include internship opportunities at MN Tech member companies. The Minnesota Technology Foundation supports diversity in this application and award process.
We also have Named Scholarships in specific areas supported by our generous sponsors. In the past, we have provided scholarships in Computer Science, STEM Education, Data Science, Women in STEM, Underrepresented Populations in STEM and Women in Computer Science. We encourage you to let students know of this additional and exceptional opportunity.
Must be pursuing an undergraduate degree in a STEM field or in STEM teaching
Only students with sophomore through senior academic status in the current school year may apply. Sophomore status may include students who have achieved this status through advanced placement (AP) credit or post-secondary options (PSEO)s
Applicants must be enrolled at an accredited, Minnesota-based higher education institution.
Scholarships will be awarded in the fall term of 2022 and presented to recipients at Minnesota Technology Association Tekne Awards in November. Students must be enrolled at time of award.
In addition to traditional STEM fields, health science majors whose studies will NOT lead to participation in direct patient care are welcome to apply.
The scholarship is open to international students, but preference is given to students who intend to work in Minnesota after graduation.
Past scholarship winners are eligible to re-apply as long as they meet the rest of the requirements listed here.

Students – don’t forget about TutorMe! It is available to Augsburg students 24/7 and offers tutoring in over 300 subjects from qualified tutors. Students are able to use 3 hours a week; 3 one hour sessions or 6 thirty-minute sessions. You can access TutorMe through any of your Moodle classes. At the top left of your screen there is an orange tab to see the side panel of resources. As you scroll down, you will see the “Augsburg Tools” section and underneath is the link to TutorMe.
