On Friday, November 1, we will hold an All Saints service at 10:40 am in Hoversten Chapel. Enemy of the People Performing in Ten Days

submitted by gebbengn@augsburg.edu

Come see Enemy of the People! (A musical adaptation)

Performance dates are Nov 1-2 and 7-9 at 7PM, Nov 10 at 3PM
Location: Tjornhom-Nelson Theater
Students are just $5!! General Public is $12 and other Augsburg Community is $10!

An Enemy of the People examines how a community responds when the local doctor threatens to expose that the town’s water source they rely on for tourism is contaminated. It raises questions of how far a community will go to protect their town’s secret so they can keep tourism dollars coming and circumvent a path to financial ruin. Scenes and songs will happen in close proximity to the audience, compelling them to feel as if they are part of the story. Immersed in the play’s dilemma, audiences will find themselves part of the climactic ending of the play when they actually vote to shape the ending of the story.

Hiring Site Director for Augsburg CGEE in Norway

submitted by devega@augsburg.edu

Augsburg’s Center for Global Education and Experience (CGEE) and our partner institution in Norway, Østfold University College (OUC), are seeking qualified candidates to serve as the Site Director for our newest CGEE location based in Fredrikstad, Norway.

Learn more about the program: “Social Systems, Sustainability, and Justice in Norway”: http://go.augsburg.edu/norway

This full-time, year-round role will be a temporary position for three years, with the possibility of renewal into a permanent position after three years. This is a unique opportunity to lead and deliver high-impact educational programs, fostering cross-cultural understanding and academic excellence.

The Site Director will be responsible for managing and delivering university-level programming for US students enrolled in OUC’s joint programs with Augsburg CGEE. The main program, “Social Systems, Sustainability, and Justice in Norway,” spans a full semester and is offered twice a year, in the fall term and again in the spring term. The position also involves organizing and leading shorter customized programs that range from 1 to 3 weeks in length.

The position of Site Director will be an exciting and highly varied role. The position requires strong interpersonal skills, as you will be providing support to the students in the program, as well as coordinating and collaborating with relevant departments at OUC and reporting to CGEE. The position will require a significant amount of attention at times and will be considered a highly independent position, and some traveling between OUC and CGEE must be anticipated.

The position is located at Østfold University College, at the Fredrikstad campus, in Norway.

Apply by October 31, 2024.

Please note all questions about the hiring process should be directed to our partners at Østfold University College: Randi Sommerfelt, Dean, randi.sommerfelt[at]hiof.no
