The conference will be held at Metro State University, 700 E 7th St., St. Paul, MN 55106
The 2024 Overcoming Racism Conference will look at the grievous harm racist policies and practices have caused the intersectional identities of Black, Indigenous, and other Communities of Color in the United States in housing, employment, criminal justice, education, and other sectors of our society. The conference will also highlight significant work underway in these sectors to bring justice and repair to those who have been harmed.
Conference Learning Objectives:
As a result of attending the 2024 Overcoming Racism Conference, participants will be able to:
Describe the harm of racism in numerous sectors in the State of MN
Identify concrete steps toward repairing the harm of racism
Imagine and name new possibilities for repairing the harm, and
Know about different opportunities for sharing and collaborating across sectors
In addition, participants will be invited to address racism through participation in the Facilitation Racial Equity Collaborative (FREC).
