For those interested in holding class outside, there is a outdoor classroom currently set up in Murphy Square under two of the black walnut trees. You’ll see the brown awning (which provides protection from rain, sun, and the falling walnuts!), portable whiteboard/blackboard, chairs, and blankets. There are markers/chalk, clipboards, and a small podium as well. We will keep it set up until it gets too cold. Several classes have been using the space and report that they have found it a nice spot to teach and learn. If you’re interested in using the space, check in with Joe Underhill (underhil@augsburg.edu) to make sure it’s available and so the cart can be unlocked. Thanks to Augsburg’s Environmental Action Committee for funding the project, and to the students of ENV/URB 492 for designing and building the cart and awning.
