School Navigator/AGILE Afterschool Program Facilitator
MAWA, 5701 Shingle Creek Pkwy, Brooklyn Ctr; St. Paul and Minneapolis sites
Two positions available, one full-time and one half-time

The Minnesota African Women’s Association, MAWA, is non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the health and well-being of African Women and their families.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Current student or recent FEMALE graduate of a 4-year college degree in a related field plus 2 years of youth development and/or teaching.
Knowledge of youth development and issues challenging Pan-African girls.
Knowledge and experience in program development, evaluation, and community organizing.
2 or more years’ experience working with youth or after-school programs is desirable but not imperative.
Effective verbal and written communication.
Ability to work occasional morning and weekend hours. Position hours during the week are generally from 12 noon to 8pm.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitate 5 (3 for half-time) of the African Girls’ Initiative for Leadership and Empowerment (AGILE) Program clubs engaging 8th- 12th grade Pan-African girls in college attendance, social enrichment, health education and skills-building programs.
Serve as School Navigator, motivating parents to participate in their children’s education, and coordinate MAWA services at satellite sites.
Facilitate quarterly parent meetings.
Oversee program evaluation, reporting, and continuous improvement of the AGILE/School Navigator programs.
Provide transportation for participants to/from AGILE sponsored activities in provided van or own vehicle when necessary.
