Research.gov Users – New Multifactor Authentication Required for Login

submitted by andersj1@augsburg.edu

Dear research.gov users,

The National Science Foundation has implemented new security measures for logging into research.gov. You are now required to add a multifactor authentication (MFA) method to your account in order to sign into research.gov. A common way to do this is to set up a Passkey on your smartphone.

For more information, see the NSF’s Dear Colleague Letter: https://www.nsf.gov/pubs/2025/nsf25011/nsf25011.jsp.

If you need assistance setting up an MFA for your research.gov account, please contact John Anderson, Senior Director of Grants, at andersj1@augsubrg.edu.
