A new semester is just around the corner, and luckily, we are expecting NEW international students to join us this Fall Semester 2023 — representing countries like Ethiopia, Belgium, Italy, Nigeria, Spain, South Korea, Greece and Norway to name a few!
Currently we are expecting to receive between 20 – 26 new international students, both degree seekers and mobility semester students.
As we collaboratively welcome this group, we plan for different experiences including a dinner potentially hosted by you—our faculty and staff members—in your home. These events create a space for our new students to connect directly with members of our community, AND the dinner provides an opportunity for you to learn about the incoming international students and their goals at Augsburg. It’s really a win-win situation!
Here are the details:
Date: Tuesday, August 22, 2023
Time: Pick up at 5 p.m. with a return to campus around 7 p.m. — Pick up at Einstein’s!

One Bedroom Apartment for Rent in St. Anthony Park $890/month
Looking for a cool place to live? This apartment is in a turn of the century house that was made into a 4-plex in the 1930s. It’s a quiet building with hardwood floors, great southern exposure, and a nice backyard patio. Near the intersection of Como and Raymond in Saint Paul, it is less than a ten minute drive to Cedar-Riverside and less than a block from the #3 bus line. The neighborhood is super cute and bougie and there is a nice park across the street.
If you’d like to know more about the place, check out the Craig’s List ad below or get in touch with Jenean Gilmer at gilmerje@augsburg.edu.

It’s really a win-win situation!
Here are the details:

Hello everyone, I apologized for the very late notice and my last official day was on July 13th, 2023. But I would like to take this time to thank the Augsburg University community for an incredible and wonderful experience. During my 1 year and 7 months here in the Academic Advising Office have been so great and welcoming. I got to learn so much from many individuals here and I hope you all continue to grow and make Augsburg a great place to be at.
I recently was offered a position at the UofMN and I have accepted it. If you are ever at the UofMN in the East Bank please come say hi to me in the Pre-Health Student Resource Center where I am the Assistant Manager for their Pathways Program. If you would still like to stay in contact with me, you are welcome to email me at xion2676@umn.edu. Thank you again Augsburg University! Go Auggies!

Attention Hyundai and Kia owners –
Augsburg has experienced a number of attempted and completed auto thefts on our campus. Almost all of these incidents involved either Kia or Hyundai vehicles. This is consistent with a trend that has been occurring within the City of Minneapolis as well as across the country. We strongly encourage owners of these makes of vehicles to take extra precautions. Use of a steering wheel lock or other anti- theft device is recommended. Such devices are available on-
line and at many auto part stores. We also suggest Hyundai and Kia owners check with their dealerships to see if there are any recalls or software upgrades available for their vehicle.
The incidents that have occurred on campus and in the surrounding community are under investigation by the Minneapolis Police. Augsburg Department of Public Safety continues to patrol the campus to both deter and detect criminal and/or suspicious activity. We urge anyone who observes suspicious behavior to contact us through Dispatch at 612-330-1717.

We will be upgrading Agresso the weekend of July 28-30. Agresso powers Records and Registration, Human Resources, Finance and Payroll.
This means the following services will be offline Friday July 28 (after 5 PM) until Monday July 31:
Records and Registration (registration, class rosters, grades)
Agresso Web / Administrative Self Service (paystubs, W2s)
Agresso desktop (student record lookup, financial reporting, HR records)
With the upgrade the product name “Agresso” will be retired from the software and will be instead branded “Unit4 ERP.” Unit4 is the company that owns the Agresso product.
After the upgrade the employee web Administrative Self service (paystubs, W2s) will have a modern look-and-feel. Documentation provided by HR and IT will be updated soon after.

Last week, WCCO featured the traveling “We Are Water MN” exhibit that is currently on display in Oren Gateway Center lobby. This interactive exhibit is a collaboration between six state partners and is hosted at Augsburg by the Somali Museum of Minnesota. WCCO came to campus to hear about how water issues impact local communities by interviewing Osman Ali, founder and executive director of the Somali Museum of Minnesota, and Britt Gangeness, program administrator at the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. Both individuals shared their perspectives on how water connects people, communities, and countries across the world.
“We Are Water MN” will be on display until August 14—stop by OGC to check it out!
