Everyday is Earth Day: Thank Yous & What’s Next

As we draw Earth Month to a close, I just want to thank all who made the last month such a profound set of experiences and who brought their necessary sustainability perspectives to our collective work. Please share your feedback on Earth Month 2022 events by filling out the survey linked below by Friday 5/6.

Thank you to all of our partners at Augsburg, in our neighborhood, and broader sustainability family for co-creating Earth Month 2022: ESC, EAC, AISA, Sabo Center, Environmental Studies, Augsburg Local, ISAIAH, LEAD Fellows, The Hub Bike Coop, QIPOC, URGO, Dining Services, MN350, Sisterhood Boutique, AASA, DNR, CWC, Rebecca’s Bakery, Campus Ministry, MSA, RLife, Campus Kitchen, Strommen Center, Afro Deli, College of St. Scholastica, and Bemidji State University. A particular thank you to Elder Hope Flanagan, the Jingle Dress Dancers, Little Earth Singers, Dylan Anderson Garbow, Dr. Anton Treuer, Moses Ong, Gayatri Narayanan, Takawi Peters, Noelle Cirisan, Dr. Leah Prussia, Erika Bailey-Johnson, and Bonfire Poets (Alyssa, Sarah, Vinny, Brandyn, and Angelica) for sharing your support, mentorship, art, experiences, and expertise with the ESC team and Earth Month attendees.

A very important shout out to the amazing Environmental Stewardship team of student leaders: Alexa Carrera, Alyssa Parkhurst, Annabella Castillo, Elan Quezada Hoffman, Elijah Abdullah, Gabriela Ortiz-Riera, Gigi Huerta Herrera, Grace Koch Muchahary, Malachi Owens, Mercy Zou Taithul, Nyasa Hendrson Meany, Reginald Oblitely, and Zoe Barany. Their collective leadership, equity-mindednes, authentic teamwork, wisdom, and organizing power brought their Earth Month 2022 vision into reality. This month of events showcased many of their accomplishments from their work this past year and has moved environmental sustainability work forward in profound ways. Thank you to them for their leadership, stewardship, and collective action.
