Need Design Support? Submit Summer Marketing Requests by June 21

In order for MarComm to plan for the summer and the beginning of school, please submit design requests by June 21 for projects with deadlines on or before September 8, 2023. Project requests received after June 21 will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may not be accepted due to the volume of summer requests.

Requests for website updates and digital screens may continue to be submitted as normal throughout the summer. Design projects due later than September 8 may be submitted at any time.

Projects can be submitted to the project management system, Lytho. Guides on how to use Lytho can be found on the marketing and communication webpage at https://sites.augsburg.edu/marketing/style_guidelines/.

Benefit and Payroll Forms Due TODAY by Noon

Please submit any benefits and payroll change forms by 12:00pm Today, 5/26 to be processed for the Friday, 6/2 pay date. This includes stipends, and all change forms for benefits, FSA, HSA, retirement, direct deposit and tax withholding forms, for example.

Supervisors: Please approve timesheets by today at 4:30PM.

New Anti-Ransomware Software Coming to Augsburg-Owned Computers

As part of our continued improvement of our cyber security defenses and work to comply with federal and insurance requirements, we will be rolling out a new piece of software called SentinelOne onto University-owned computers. New Staff Position: Human Resources Assistant

Please note: This position is located at our Minneapolis location and it is not remote eligible. Typical hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Primary Responsibilities

– Greet and welcome visitors and manage the overall operations of the HR front office.
– Monitor and respond to general HR office voicemail and email inquiries.
– Serve as first-point of contact to effectively problem-solve and respond to a variety of HR-related question and refer urgent and/or more complex issues to the appropriate HR partner or specialist.
– Assist with administrative support in areas of recruitment and onboarding, benefits and payroll administration, training, compliance and performance management, and other HR-related administrative tasks.
– Update and manage a variety of databases and systems, from simple to highly complex, requiring a high level of problem-solving and accuracy.
– Maintain and update the HR website.
– Assist with developing and distributing department communications.
– Manage confidential filing and archiving system to ensure legal and policy compliance.

New Staff Position: 1st Shift Custodian

The schedule for this position is Sunday – Thursday 5:00 am – 1:30 pm.

This position is responsible for cleaning and servicing designated areas according to the established procedures, area of responsibility and other assignments necessary to perform as assigned by the supervisor or lead. Follow proper cleaning methods, utilizing equipment for each situation, based on training, to ensure the campus maintains a healthy, safe, and sanitary environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

– General cleaning of area(s) of responsibility including waste removal, vacuuming, carpet cleaning, detail cleaning of restrooms, entries, common areas, wall washing, Kivac as needed, spot cleaning walls, staircases, dust mop, and mop or auto scrub floors.
– Detailing area(s) which will include dusting, edge vacuuming, cleaning light fixtures, cleaning and polishing drinking fountains, and straightening furniture and accessories.
– Buffing floors, Cleaning Carpets, and deep cleaning restrooms as needed.
– Clean all glass entry doors, inside and out. throughout the shift, as needed.
– Assist in the coverage of open areas due to vacations, sick calls, and open positions.

Additional Examples of Work Performed:

– Completing work orders.
– Clean and maintain all custodial equipment and closets according to set standards.
– Clean outside entryways, up to 15 feet from the door, and keep them free of debris and snow.
– Summer and school break apartment turn cleaning.
– Report damages, acts of vandalism, and needed repairs.
– Bio-hazard clean-up.
– Assist with event cleanup.
– All other duties are assigned by the Facilities Operation Manager, Custodial Supervisor, or Lead Custodian.

Looking for Housing Close to Campus

A one-year Visiting Assistant Professor in the History department (who will be teaching courses in Chinese and Asian history — yay!) is looking for a studio or one-bedroom apartment (preferably furnished) close to campus or on a light rail or bus line, for a one-year lease starting August 1 or 15.
