Many students, faculty, and staff saw and heard an individual on the public sidewalk in front of Anderson Music Hall on Friday, August 30. That individual has been to Augsburg before, either in Murphy Square (public park) or on the public sidewalk.
Per the City of Minneapolis, individuals may protest on public sidewalks as long as they do not impede pedestrians; a permit is required if a protestor wants to use amplified sound (microphone, bullhorn, etc.).
Messages conveyed by the protestor are not supported by the University. Augsburg University supports the right of individuals to protest.
Many thanks to members of the Augsburg community for supporting each other and keeping one another safe.
