Fellowship Fridays Start this Week: June 19 at 2 p.m.

submitted by maherk@augsburg.edu

CTL is joining Bridget Robinson-Riegler, Psychology Professor and member of Faculty Senate, to bring you Fellowship Fridays support sessions. Beginning Friday, June 19, all faculty members and teaching staff are invited to gather and share their experiences with teaching, learning, and advising in this strange new world. – we’ll trade ideas, advice, highs, lows, successes, and failures – or maybe we’ll just plain old vent. Most importantly, we will attempt to inoculate ourselves against one of the more insidious side effects of this pandemic – isolation. So grab a cup of coffee or tea, or pour a glass of wine, and Zoom in to support your fellow instructors and work through this challenging time together.

*If Friday afternoons don’t work with your schedule, but you would still like to participate, reach out to Bridget or Jennifer Bankers-Fulbright, and they will contemplate adding other days/times in the future.

Fridays starting June 19 (no session on July 3) | “Fellowship Fridays” | 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm, ZOOM

Rev. Babette Chatman and Rev. I am pleased for Amanda Erdman to announce that she has taken a new position and sad to say she will be leaving Augsburg. She has given Augsburg University 13 years of leadership, dedication, and heart. Arriving on campus in 2007, Amanda opened the Oren Gateway Center as the newest residence hall on campus and the new home of the StepUP program. She has long been a supporter of the recovery community. In her role as Director of Residence Life, she hired, trained, and worked with countless professional staff, many of whom continued in higher education providing leadership on campuses across the Midwest. As an administrator, Amanda demonstrated precision and creativity in occupancy management. Her budgeting and analysis expertise led her to accept a new position as property manager analyst. June 23 will be Amanda’s last day working at Augsburg University, but she will always be an Auggie. Please join me in thanking Amanda for her many contributions to our campus. She will be missed.

Involved in Protests, Vigils, or Neighborhood Events? Consider Covid-19 Testing

submitted by guilbeau@augsburg.edu

STAY SAFE IN MN – MESSAGE from the MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH

“COVID-19 can spread easily and quickly in large groups of people who are close together for long periods of time. Some people do not have symptoms but can still spread the virus to others.”

If you participated in a protest, vigil, or other neighborhood event, you should get tested. These community sites are specifically designed to serve those who live in most impacted neighborhoods and the immediate surrounding community.

The State of Minnesota is offering COVID-19 testing to people living in the communities impacted by recent large gatherings in the Twin Cities area. If you do not live in these neighborhoods, we encourage all other Minnesotans to be tested at their local clinic.”

How are you doing this summer? We know many of you had jobs and internships lined up for this summer and because of COVID-19 lost those opportunities. The Strommen Center team has heard from many students about the hardship this has created and we want you to know that we are here to help. These Let’s Talk Job Search conversations are informal and focused on hearing from you and your peers about how your summer job and internship search is going and learn more about how we can best assist you this summer. We can troubleshoot issues you are having and show you search tools and platforms you may not be aware of. We hope you’ll join us for this informal conversation!

Let’s Talk Job Search

submitted by grayk2@augsburg.edu

How are you doing this summer? We know many of you had jobs and internships lined up for this summer and because of COVID-19 lost those opportunities. The Strommen Center team has heard from many students about the hardship this has created and we want you to know that we are here to help.

These weekly Let’s Talk Job Search conversations are informal and focused on hearing from you and your peers about how your summer job and internship search is going and learn more about how we can best assist you this summer. We can troubleshoot issues you are having and show you search tools and platforms you may not be aware of.

We hope you’ll join us for this first informal conversation on Tuesday, May 26 at 1:30 p.m.!

Though the academic calendar called for Summer Semester online registration to be disabled on May 18, the Registrar’s Office considered the current circumstances and decided to re-activate online registration for Time 2 courses (those starting June 29). If there is space available in a Time 2 course and you meet the prerequisite, you should be able to enroll through Augnet Records and Registration.
