Hello, my name is Ashley Wurster and I am currently a clinical psychology doctoral student at Augsburg University. I am conducting a research study about how episode patterns in schizophrenia may affect stigmatization levels among mental health practitioners and the general public in Minnesota, and I would like to include you in my research. The study will be completed exclusively online and consist of a survey about your demographics and your experiences with and attitudes on schizophrenia/severe mental illnesses. In this remarkable volume, young adults voice their concerns and laments about the church’s
past and present, as well as their hopes and dreams for the church’s future. Unlike many current books on youth ministry, this is not a book about how to attract young adults back to church. Instead, it is an invitation to listen to young adults as they offer important insights regarding the capacity of the church—and the world—to flourish going forward.

The book’s contributors candidly discuss the issues that matter most to their generation: climate catastrophe, mental health, abuses of power, meaningful relationships, inclusion and liberation, and more. As they grieve how the church has caused harm and avoided hard truths, they also yearn for the church to better embody a community centered on Jesus. Driven by a deep hunger for hope, they explore how churches can become trustworthy partners in mending people’s relationships with God, with each other, and with the earth. Celebrate National TRIO Day! In 1986, congressional resolution, H.Con Res. 278. declared that Saturday, February 28, 1986 should be designated as “National TRIO Day” to commemorate the annual achievements of the Federal TRIO Programs in communities across the country. National TRIO Day is now recognized on the 4th Saturday in February.

TRIO includes eight programs targeted to serve and assist low-income individuals, first-generation college students, and individuals with disabilities to progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to postbaccalaureate programs. TRIO also includes a training program for directors and staff of TRIO projects. TRIO programs currently serve more than 800,000 students throughout the United States and its territories. TRIO introduced the concept of “first-generation” college student and were the first national college access and retention programs to address barriers to education in America.

Augsburg is home to two TRIO Programs: TRIO McNair Scholars and TRIO/Student Support Services (SSS) who, combined, serve approximately 200 students annually on our campus.

Augsburg’s annual Zyzzogeton Student Research Symposium showcases the work of over 50 undergraduate researchers in all academic disciplines and will take place on Tuesday, April 15, 3:00-4:30 PM in Hagfors Center. Students who have conducted research over the course of the last year and would like to present a poster should register using the link below by February 18.

You must have approval from your faculty mentor before registering for Zyzzogeton. If you do not have a formal abstract at this point, please provide a brief description of your research instead. You will have the opportunity to submit a final abstract/make final edits prior to the event. Abstracts will be published on the URGO website.

NOTE: If you’re planning to co-present with another student(s), only one of you needs to register. Be sure to list their names and emails and indicate that they will be co-presenters where specified on the form. All presenters will be included in event correspondence.

All students earn the Global Competence Certificate (GCC) – a valuable addition to your resume – and can tailor their experience with specialized courses and internships in Spanish for Business, Spanish for Healthcare Professionals, Mexican Civilizations and Cultures, and Mexican Literature.

Hello, my name is Ashley Wurster and I am currently a clinical psychology doctoral student at Augsburg University. I am conducting a research study about how episode patterns in schizophrenia may affect stigmatization levels among mental health practitioners and the general public in Minnesota, and I would like to include you in my research. Embodying Racism: A Space to Practice

This is a new affinity group that is an invitation for white-identifying faculty, staff, and administrators to explore embodying anti-racism through conversation, somatic and physical practices, and the lens of Freirean pedagogy. Everyone learns, everyone teaches.

We will have our first meeting this Thursday, February 13, from 12:00-1:00pm in Lindell Library 301. Join us for our first meeting where we’ll introduce ourselves and discuss our interests and possibilities for what we envision this group to be. We’ll also go over some logistics like meeting times and offer a short, simple practice as a way to experience some of the work we we might do together.

Hello, my name is Ashley Wurster and I am currently a clinical psychology doctoral student at Augsburg University. I am conducting a research study about how episode patterns in schizophrenia may affect stigmatization levels among mental health practitioners and the general public in Minnesota, and I would like to include you in my research. The study will be completed exclusively online and consist of a survey about your demographics and your experiences with and attitudes on schizophrenia/severe mental illnesses. It should take about 10-15 minutes to complete. To thank you for your participation, there will be an option at the end of the survey to have a $2 bill mailed to you. Augsburg’s CGEE program offers an engaging and community-based summer experience with a focus on Spanish language and Mexican culture. Choose and/or combine courses from 3 1/2 week sessions.

All students earn the Global Competence Certificate (GCC) – a valuable addition to your resume – and can tailor their experience with specialized courses and internships in Spanish for Business, Spanish for Healthcare Professionals, Mexican Civilizations and Cultures, and Mexican Literature.

In addition to your coursework, you will:

Summary of Position

In collaboration with the Director and Disability Specialists, the Assistive Technology & Accommodations Specialist develops the strategic vision and oversees the implementation of accommodations for students with disabilities as well as supervises student employees within the department. They manage all aspects of assistive technology, alternative format textbooks and course materials, testing accommodations, and note taking. This position also works closely with the CLASS/Disability Resources Director to develop, implement and evaluate systems and processes that support the provision of accommodations. They are a subject matter expert and partner with campus stakeholders to consult on accessible web and information technology.

Primary Responsibilities

– Conduct Assistive Technology assessments with students and partner with them to implement, install, train, and follow up on recommendations.
– Facilitate and manage the production and evaluation of alternative format textbooks and course materials; receive requests; convert materials, work to ensure students receive materials in a timely manner; collaborate with bookstore and faculty.
– Facilitate and supervise provision of testing accommodations for students; schedule tests including proctors and assistive technology; proctor as necessary.
– Hire, train, and supervise student workers including test proctors, note takers, lab and office assistants; maintain work-study budget.
– Research, preview, evaluate, and purchase Assistive Technology.
– Budget oversight responsibilities for some restricted and/or endowed funds.
– Provide Web Accessibility guidance and consultation across campus.

Additional Responsibilities

– Maintain, track usage, upgrade, and replace Assistive technology resources as necessary.
– Monitor accommodation implementation systems and update as necessary.
– All other duties as apparent or assigned by supervisor(s).

Work Environment and Physical Demands

– Typical work environment is an office. Sedentary work for long periods of time.
– Regular computer and phone use.
